Posted by Aiza Garnica on 11/25/2012 10:26:45 PM

SFC-Northern California conducted its 1st SFC-CCT1 (SFC Couple Coordinators’ Training) last November 18, 2012 in Mountain House, at the home of Mauril & Josie Mariano. This training was conceptualized over 3 months ago based on the latest 2011 Leaders Pastoral Track. The training was attended by 4 CFC couples, Resty & Lyn Tambua, Jess & Mila Empeynado, Alex & Carolyne Cosas, and Elmer & Angel Estimo.

The praise and worship was led by Mauril Mariano, the Interim SFC Sector PFO Coordinator. This was followed by an orientation of the day’s activities given also by Mauril Mariano, the training moderator. He also emphasized the importance of having a Couple Prayer Time. The first talk, “One with Christ” was given by Pidz Banasan, CFC Cluster 3 Head, who is also NorCal’s PFO Director. He mentioned that as couple coordinators, their relationship should be rooted in Christ, to experience fullness of life in Him so we can have more to give. He reminded the participants that we cannot give something that we don’t have.

The second talk, “The SFC Vision” was given by Pepot Calanog, NorCal’s SFC Sector Head. He stressed that serving is not easy and not a bed of roses, but if we are anchored on a vision, the service is lighter and the load is easier to take. He also explained the roles and responsibilities of various services in SFC.

We are blessed to have Leo & Edith Campos, Family Ministry Leaders from Metro Manila Central C Sector who gave the third talk, “One with the Community”. The talk empowers the participants to view their duties in SFC as a greater service in the CFC Community as we experience the fullness of Christ’s love through guiding the SFC’s in discovering and pursuing their vocation for marriage, singleblessedness, or religious life.

The training ended with a praisefest led by Pepot Calanog and assisted by Elmer Estimo on guitar. After the praisefest, the couple coordinators prayed over each other and then Rolly Fajilan, Family Ministry of NorCal, prayed over everyone. He ended the session with an empowerment talk and a closing prayer.
