While we are all ready and excited for Christmas... there are a lot of our countrymen who will be spending their Christmas homeless and in grief for the lost not only of their house but also their loved ones.

That is why this Christmas, as Christians, our celebration will not be complete and as meaningful as it should be if we will not take part in being and bringing the light of Christ to those who are in the dark because of the recent typhoon ‘Sendong’ that hit the provinces of Cagayan De Oro,  Iligan and other parts of Mindanao and Visayas.

Let us help letting these people feel the warmth of God’s embrace for them this Christmas, hoping that they would at least have the basics – food, water and clothes  that would make them survive in the next few days.

As individual and as a community we are called to be a light to them...

1.     Pray for them every day, offer your ‘Simbang Gabi’ to them, your Rosaries, Masses.

2.     Donate Online at www.cfchomeoffice.com/sendong via Credit Card and proceeds will be given to the CFC leaders we have in CDO and Iligan for relief operations. Local and International credit cards are accepted.

Cash and Bank donatios are also accepted through www.cfchomeoffice.com using the CFC,SFC, HOLD Id number to log in.

As of 5:53pm there are Php37,250 donations accumulated in the CFC Online donations.

News from ABS-CBN - The death toll from tropical storm “Sendong” (international name: Washi) has breached the 600 mark, government data showed.

The NDRRMC said search and retrieval operations continue to find more bodies after the floods.

The agency noted that the number of missing persons went down to 82 from 260.

In Cagayan de Oro City, 30,403 individuals are now staying in 19 evacuation centers, while in Iligan, there are 9,640 individuals in 15 centers.
