It has been  three days since the Metro Manila Conference in Baguio and I am still in awe. It is more than amazing to be a witness to the Lord’s hand moving way before, during, and even after the conference.

As part of the PFO team that discerns the theme and messages of the MMC, then later writes, sifts, refines, and weaves together the four talks, I sat, during most of the sessions, trying to stop my jaw from dropping and my tears from falling (with little success) at how the Holy Spirit was moving in every aspect of the conference. I knew the messages of the talks by heart, had listened to almost all the sharers prior to the actual sessions, and was even familiar with the sequence of the program. Yet as I sat there, I couldn’t help but be moved as though everything I was witnessing was new, fresh, and unexpected! I could not hold back my tears as I saw how the Lord was using, changing, transforming, enhancing, expanding, magnifying whatever He led us to come up with in the PFO to speak His perfect message to His children, in the perfect way, at the perfect time. I knew everything was unfolding exactly the way God willed. I sensed His smile, His joy, His excitement at how His children would take in everything that He was telling them. How great our God truly is!

I kept telling the Lord, "Lord, I am so small compared to You, so simple-minded next to Your wisdom, so limited beside Your infinite greatness. Why do you use me? How can you use me knowing all my weaknesses and failings?" I felt so unworthy of such a privilege. The Lord’s answer humbled me even more. In all kindness He told me, "I am blessing you like no one else because you have given what no one else has given."  I am undeserving but He honors the little I offer.  

I think this is the Lord’s message to all of us who have served in the MMC or who have given in any way of ourselves so that our brothers and sisters could experience God’s presence in the conference. Perhaps we were committee heads or members, part of the production team, or even a speaker, sharer, or worship leader in one of the sessions. Or perhaps we were our chapter’s delegation head or a silent servant just making sure everyone and everything was all right. However we served for this conference, we have given of our own uniqueness as no one else could.  And so He blesses each one of us in a different way, in a special way that He knows will touch us exactly the way He wills.  

Psalm 139 says, "O Lord, You know me: You have scrutinized me…. You are familiar with all my ways."  Yes, God knows exactly what will make each of us understand what He wants to say because He knows all our intricacies. And He will meet us there.  For me, at that particular time, that was God`s perfect way of saying "I love you." What was He telling YOU?

Three days after the MMC and yes, I am still in awe. But even more than that, I am filled with gratitude. For the God I serve knows me intimately and desires to fill me. He wants to bless me and make me a blessing. Most of all, in my imperfectness, He loves me perfectly. Yes, I am pursued by a loving God!
